Patternmaker

 

Beach Riot is hiring a Patternmaker for our Headquarters in Newport Beach, CA.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with design, development and production team as well as import and domestic vendors
• Develop 1st thru Production patterns
• Collaborate with 3rd party pattern making company for marking and grading
• Lead/Attend fit sessions
• Facilitate the transition of apparel styles from design concept / first prototype to a final, production-ready sample
• Coordinate with development to make sure that all samples are requested and complete by required date
• Create tech packs – face card, spec sheet, POM and construction page
• Work with Development to release pattern to factories for PP fitting
• Check internal fit sample
• Check PP and TOP samples to confirm garments are within set tolerance
• Set up in house pattern room and sample room
• Manage in house sample room
• Additional tasks as needed in this growing role

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 6+ years of experience in Patternmaking and Technical Design
• Previous experience with women’s swimwear and activewear
• Ability to motivate team and build structure
• Exceptional knowledge of garment construction, fit, and finishing
• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation
• Must be able to multi-task and succeed in fast-paced environment
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Willing to grow within a small team
