Job Title: Assistant Planner 

Location: Newport Beach office

Job Type: Full time

Compensation:  $22-24/hr depending on experience


JOB SUMMARY 

The Assistant Planner role at Beachriot is responsible for supporting the team in analyzing,  forecasting and buying for the ecommerce business. This role is responsible for supporting the  reporting and strategic direction of inventory and sales planning. To excel in the position, this  person must be a self-starter, have a love for both product and analytics, thinks outside the  box, and enjoys working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. This position will report  into the Buyer/Planner for Ecommerce.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Open-to-Buy/ Inventory Management 

Support the Buyer/Planner in overall buying process each season; provide hindsight reporting, current sales trends and market trend analysis. 

Run daily Pre-sell function on site based on inventory ownership 

Present seasonal analysis to understand sales performance to develop future goals. Work closely with Buyer/Planner to Hindsight monthly learnings to prepare all necessary  reporting decks. 

Work with Buyer/Planner team on monthly reconciliation of receipts  Create Purchase Order Entry, order maintenance for internal buys and external vendor PO’s Maintain and update the open-to-buy receipts recap monthly 

Work closely with Planner to update and maintain sku plans and documents  Monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely product launches and address delays Inventory managements between global available to sell and Ecomm inventory needs 

Forecasting and Analysis 

Assist in pulling and preparing weekly Monday business reports, as well as monthly Returns  Reporting 

Partner with Buyer/Planner to hindsight in-season & post-season performance by category.  Assist in pulling size selling analytics to optimize ecommerce business. Run & publish various weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc Merchandise Planning reports  as needed. 

Work with Buyer/Planner to ensure that receipt goals are met each month and are reflected  as new assortments are delivered online. 

Other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS  

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel skills necessary  Experience with Shopify/Shopify Plus, Full Circle, Google Analytics 

Strong Analytical and Business knowledge of retail and merchandising concepts Result-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency 

Able to independently organize and prioritize broad workload to meet deadlines.

Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities. 

Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills 

Excellent attention to detail. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

1-2 years’ experience working in a planning or buying function preferred Bachelor’s Degree

 

 

Job Title: Technical Designer

Location: Newport Beach office

Job Type: Full time

JOB SUMMARY 

The Senior Technical Designer creates world class swim, active, and lifestyle apparel that is acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality. Under the partnership of Design, Product Development, and Production teams; you develop the line from tech pack hand-off to the production of garments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Responsible for prototype management

  • Maintain data integrity in Excel tps and shared development and production tracker

  • Organize daily work-flow that adheres to BR deliverables & development timelines

  • Develop and create tech packs in Excel format to communicate requirements for Design aesthetic, fit, and construction engineering; construction callouts, technical sketches, grade rule, tolerances, and POM set up

  • Measure and review proto samples based on submitted tech pack

  • Set up fitting schedule and booking the models as needed based on deadlines and filling the minimum required time

  • Lead fittings & presentations: Measure, evaluate fit sample submit (construction, execution), present style history, advise required fit and construction corrections discussed for assigned styles

  • Ensure construction and fit consistency across product class according to established brand guidelines

  • Spec and analyze garments to determine compliance of measurements, workmanship, construction direction, and maintain fit intent

  • Analyze and communicate the outcome of fittings and construction reviews with cross functional and vendor partners

  • Lead vendor & cross-functional relationships through effective email correspondence, in-person meetings, and plan onsites

  • Update tracker with status of tps, fit comments, and when next sample will be received according to calendar deadlines

  • Collaborate with product development/ production team on fit issues addressed in returns meeting and update tracker and counterparts on progress

  • Educate team in advanced technical knowledge of our brand’s construction and fit standards

  • Present and support team in proto changes, challenges, and solutions at fit meetings

  • Review, spec garments, and send comments to supplier with 48-72 hours of fitting through TOP stage for IMPORT styles

  • Review, spec garments, and send comments to supplier with 48-72 hours of fitting through PP stage for DOMESTIC styles

  • Build strategies alongside VP of Sourcing and Production that drive competencies within the scope of product creation

  • Mentor & train junior team members

  • Sets and maintains care label instructions based on fabric/garment qualities and end use.

Required Skills

  • Driven by the technical aspect of the product creation process

  • Comprehensive knowledge of fabric, construction, draping, graphic & dye techniques

  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, cross functional team environment

  • Excellent time management, organizational & problem-solving skills

  • Curiosity for change & learning, capable of managing ambiguity

  • Ability to lead fit sessions for all products

  • Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)

  • Exposure to International production; Domestic production would be an asset

  • Experience working directly with Pattern Engineers (Internal and Overseas)

  • Knowledge of garment construction methods in multiple fabrications (swim, woven, knit, & engineered knits) and product categories
